Trowbridge & Trowbridge Successfully Completes CMMI Level 3 Appraisal

McLean, VA — July 27, 2016– Trowbridge & Trowbridge, LLC (Trowbridge), a leading technology solutions provider to the Federal government, today announced the successful appraisal to Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Services (CMMI-SVC) model with the Service System Development (SSD) addition.

President and CEO, Karen Trowbridge said, “We’ve accomplished another significant achievement in a growing string of rapid and strategic evolutions for the company. This new rating of Trowbridge processes is further evidence of our corporate commitment to quality.” The Trowbridge infrastructure has been ISO 9001:2008 certified for nearly a decade. In May of this year, the security of their information and assets was corroborated with an ISO 27001:2013 certification. Trowbridge continued to say, “Our customers and employees will soon experience the advantages of this implementation.”

The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) was developed at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) by a group of experts from industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at CMU. A CMMI model provides detailed guidance for improving processes that meet the strategic goals of a business or organization. The Services model provides a framework for the delivery of services within a company and to their external customers.

The company also decided to pursue the optional SSD process area. Chris Brandell, Trowbridge’s COO said, “We architect and implement complex, and tailored service systems for our clients. In our initial CMMI implementation discussions we felt compelled to ensure our development process was as robust as possible, according to industry best practices.”

Successful appraisal to the optional SSD process area means Trowbridge takes special consideration to develop and analyze stakeholder requirements ensuring their work is aligned with expectations. The now externally validated Trowbridge process also ensures the best selection, design, and integration of their innovative service systems, and ensures verification and validation of the implementation. Brandell concluded by saying; “This should give our customers an additional level of confidence in our delivery, beyond what they may experience with many of our competitors and peers.”

Trowbridge is an award-winning mid-tier contactor that is also certified as an economically disadvantaged woman-owned small business (EDWOSB) under its NIH CIO-SP3 SB, Alliant SB, and GSA Schedule 70 Prime contract vehicles. The company is CMMI-SVC+SSD Maturity Level 3 appraised with an ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified infrastructure, and provides innovative technology solutions to Defense and Federal Civilian clients.
