IntelliBridge, through its Alethix subsidiary, has won a three-year, $6.5 million contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) to provide cloud readiness development services for the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS). AWIPS is the cornerstone computer system used by NWS forecasters to integrate observational weather data and imagery to produce the agency’s core forecast and warning products. Through the work on the contract, IntelliBridge will refactor AWIPS to run natively in the cloud as well as better synthesize the multiple incoming data flows which will enable future NWS forecasters greater flexibility in where they perform their duties.
