Peter Surprenant – Program Director

Peter is a PMP and SAFe Agilist-certified Program Director with over 13 years of experience managing projects, programs and portfolios across the federal civilian, intelligence, and national security sectors. Peter has a passion for leading and developing high-performing teams, solving client challenges and delivering unparalleled service. Peter has extensive background in project management, organizational strategy, and enterprise transformation using agile best practices and principles. Prior to joining Alethix, Peter spent time with Deloitte Consulting where he supported human capital and organizational transformation initiatives across multiple agencies, including a major US intelligence agency, the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Today, Peter manages strategic consulting and IT transformation initiatives supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
In his over six years with Alethix, Peter has delivered IT modernization, strategic PMO, acquisition support, and business process re-engineering services to the National Weather Service (NWS), National Oceans Service (NOS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) while overseeing Alethix task orders across the Federal Civilian sector. Peter has provided communications, project management, and strategy subject matter expertise to NWS leaders as part of the Evolve NWS initiative to support NWS efforts to transform its operating model to deliver enhanced Impact-Based Decision Support Services (IDSS) through technology modernization, workforce realignment, and a Collaborative Forecast Process (CFP). Peter works directly with senior NWS and NOAA leadership and provided strategic support for a variety of IT projects and initiatives, including application virtualization, networking, IT infrastructure consolidation, web services, and weather information mass dissemination. Peter has also provided budget, capital planning/eCPIC, schedule management, risk management, and strategic communications support for a $60M+ portfolio.
Within the USCIS space, Peter is currently providing agile and technical coaching support services to the USCIS Office of Information Technology (OIT) Applied Technology Division (ATD) to align end users, stakeholders and business partners to create and oversee innovative processes that enable the delivery of quality products, systems and application and empower development teams to take advantage of Agile and DevSecOps practices.
